Jammu, Sept 7 : Speak India Environment Foundation (SIEF), today demanded stern action against culprits of sexual exploitation of mentally retarded children of Channi Rama.
According to press release, a meeting was organized by the SIEF under the leadership of Deepa Sharma. Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that the sexual exploitation of the mentally retarded girls of rotary club inner wheel home for mentally retarded children of Channi Rama was a shameful act for society. "Our government has also failed to stop these crimes and as a result cases of sexual harassment are increasing day by day", she said and demanded that government should frame a committee comprising of women social activist and to check all the mentally retarded homes, Bal Ashrams, Nari Niketans, Churches, Day Boarding schools.
She further said that the mentally retarded girls/women who are wandering here and there should be properly treated by the government and they should send to the rehabilitation centers, hospitals, nursing homes for further treatment. On the other side of the programme Naresh Kumar demanded strict punishment against the people behind this illicit act. In this programme Vinay Khajuria, Sumit, Manoj, Ashwani, were present. |
