| Students of MAM PG College demands action against culprits | | Sexual exploitation of mentally challenged girls | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 7 : Students of Govt. MAM PG College today staged a strong demonstration against the state government for not showing any serious concern over the spurt in the rape cases and demanded immediate action against the persons who were involve in sexual exploitation of mentally challenged girls and Narwal rape case. The students boycotted their classes and gathered in the college ground, under the leadership of Lucky Singh. Students after boycotting their classes gathered and raised slogans against state government for not showing any serious concern over the increasing rape cases in the state. Lucky Singh stated that it is very shameful for our society some touts has not even spared the mentally challenged girls. Police should immediately took action and convict all the accused involved in the sexually exploitation of the mentally challenged girls. Lucky also lambasted the state govt. for not punishing rapist who abducted and raped a girl at Narwal in 2008. "The accused is still roaming scot-free even the victim who is died now had recorded her statement before the court" said Lucky. "After passage of near about 5 year, three accused of raping a girl at Narwal are roaming scot free while the victim had also died mysteriously", said Lucky. He stated that the delaying policy of the state government for conviction of the rape accused will not be tolerated anymore and the student community will not sit idle now. Lucky Singh said that it is very shameful for our state govt. that some persons running NGO's made pray the mentally challenged girls under the noose of District administration. The victim in Narwal case had lost her life seeking justice but till now the accused is roaming free. Lucky said one of the three accused in rape case of a girl at Narwal was arrested but following the influence challan of the case was not presented till following which the arrested got bail and the rest two are roaming scot-free. "With the influence, the accused are influencing the case" said Lucky. |
