Doda, Sept 7: On the eve of Teacher's Day, Govt Degree College Doda today organised a grand function in the college premises. The function was presided over by the Principal of the college Prof. Z.A.Hashmi. The students threw light on the valuable contribution made by teachers to the society by imparting knowledge and enlightening and shaping the career of students. In his presidential address Prof. Hashmi said that all of us have been students at some stage of our life and have benefited from our teachers. Celebration of Teachers' Day is a wonderful opportunity especially for all of us to show our gratitude and appreciation to our teachers, he said and laid emphasis on the student community to follow the path of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, a prominent thinker, philosopher and an educator whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Teacher's Day in India. The whole function was compered by students of the college. A similar programmee was organized in MCA Department, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu. In this regard, a function was organized which started with the lamp lighting, which was lit by Rector Bhaderwah. Campus, Prof M A Malik, incharge Head PG Department of Computer Science and IT, Sourabh Shastri, Assistant Registrar Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Academic co-ordinator Kuljit Singh, Incharge Head IME Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Incharge Head MBA Rohit Bhagat, and Incharge Head English Dr. Subash Chander were present on the occasion .. Akash and Rahul, students of MCA Department put light on the life of Dr Radhakrishnan, first Vice President of India followed by solo song by Dinesh, skit, group-song, groupdance and solo skit. Shallu Kotwal and Balvir coordinated the whole function. The other participants were Arun, Suhail, Kalicharan, Bharat, Shubam, Rahul, Ravinder, Yasir, Rajinder, Shivangi, Jyoti, Sagar, Manohar and Anu. Rector Bhaderwah Campus, Prof. M.A. Malik shared his views and gave a moral lesson to the students and said that a teacher casts a most powerful influence on the lives of students more than parents. |
