| Land exchange issue; Administration supports farmers | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 7: The district administration today came in support of farmers to acquire the land at the bank of Sahar Khud at Kathua, which was being allotted by the administration in exchange of land given for the construction of Mini-Technological campus of Jammu University at Janglote. The few persons were objecting the possession of the land by causing unnecessary hindrances with a motive to encroach the said land illegally. A large numbers of farmers and their supporters sat on the exchanged/allotted land in the presence of administration and covered the allotted piece of land by fencing with steel wire around the land. While speaking on the occasion farmer Chaggar Singh, Mustaq Ahmad and Kulwant Singh strongly condmned the hindrances which are being caused by some persons during the possession of a piece of land by the farmers who have given their land for the construction of Jammu University campus while the land exchanged to the farmers by the government of Jammu and Kashmir. They said that the revenue department, vide Govt. Order No. Rev/s/08 of 2010 dated 22/01/2010 issued the directions for exchange of land owned by the farmers of village Janglote which was acquired by the Govt for construction of Mini- Technological Campus of Jammu University at Kathua. According to which the district administration have identified a piece of land on the bank on Sahar Khud for the allotment in favour of farmers who have given their land to University at Janglote. |
