DB issues directions regarding construction of lawyers' chambers, multistorey parking

Jammu, Sept 7 : A Division Bench (DB) of State High Court while taking up the matter regarding construction of lawyers' chambers and multi-storey parking passed directions regarding Lawyers chambers and medical facilities in Court Complex at Janipur. Division Bench also directed Municipal Corporation Jammu to ensure cleanliness in the whole judicial complex at Jammu.
Division Bench (DB) of State High court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal while taking up the matter regarding construction of lawyers' chambers and multi-storey parking observed that on July 17, 2013, this court has recorded a statement of State counsel that a sum of Rs 3 crores would be released to JKPCC within three week. A sum of rupees 2 crores have already been released, however, Rs 1 crore was yet to be released as Division Bench recorded in the order yesterday. The matter was adjourned for compliance of order dated July 17, 2013 for September 6, 2013.
Sr Additional Advocate General Gagan Basotra placed on record a copy order dated September 5, 2013 releasing a sum of Rs one crore in favour of the Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Jammu for construction of Lawyers chambers in Court complex at Janipur Jammu, subject to usual conditions. He further stated that this amount should be released to JKPCC subject to conditions mentioned in the order.
Sr. Advocate MK Bhardwaj President Bar Association raised issue that medical facilities are not available in the judicial court complex. Upon this Division Bench directed that status report regarding medical facilities be filed before the next date of hearing. Division Bench also directed the Municipal Corporation Jammu to ensure hygienic conditions and cleanliness in the whole judicial complex at Jammu and the status report shall be filed before the next date of hearing.
