Anantnag, Sept 7: A 'man-eater' black bear was shot dead in Anantnag
district's Walarham area by the locals after the wild animal attacked two persons in the area.
Reports said that today a black bear attacked two persons identified as Nazir Ahmad s/o Gulam shekh and Rasool Bhat S/o Akbar Bhat R/O wallarhama and left them injured.
They were removed to the district hospital Anantnag by the locals. However, the doctors referred him to SK Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar. Soon after the attack, scores of people assembled in the village and tried to corner the beast. They with the help iron tools and stones killed the beast that had created panic among the residents. |
