Jammu, Sept 15: Stressing the need for immediate amending of SRO 64, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed the chief minister, finance minister and chief secretary to formulate comprehensive policy for regularization of all daily rated workers/casual and seasonal labour engaged in R&B, irrigation, floriculture, PDD and other departments of the state Govt. after March 31,1994 so that confusion and uncertainty among these workers will come to end. Addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally at Rani Park here, Shastri said that early amendment In SRO 64 is the need of the hour which is bound have near about fifity five thousands daily rated workers working in the various departments of the State Govt. and public sector undertakings, adding that such an amendment in SRO should be immediately effected so that new regularization policy become operational from Gandhi Jyanti as gift to working class. Shastri hoped that the State Govt. would sympathetically considered the demands of daily wagers and make announcement in this regards at the earliest. Pleading the cause of both central govt. employees and pensioners Shastri also urged upon the Central Govt. to release pending installment of 10% DA due from July last in favour of Central and State Governments employees and pensioners at the next union cabinet meeting in view of sharp increase inflation and price hike. Shastri said that Central Govt have all ready ear-marked funds for the purpose in the current year financial budget for the purpose, there is no justification on the part of Govt. to delay it. Shastri further demanded that monthly emoluments of daily wages should be raised to Rs. ten thousand per month at the National level, setting up of 7th pay commission , merger of 50% DA into basic pay/pension, grant of 20% Interim relief to Central/State Governments employees and pensioners, release of pending salary of motivators working in IWDP Phase II beside their regularization, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in RDD, enhancing medial allowance to Rs one thousand per month, release of 3rd installment of 6th pay commission arrears, release of wages of daily wagers working in the social forestry departments were other demands presented in the rally Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sham Lal Sharma, Rakesh Padha, Anil Singh Slathia, Surinder Kumar, Ram Lal Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Sudesh Bhagat, Vijay Bhagat, Dalip Bhagat and Comrade Barkat Ram, Mohan Lal, Krishan Lal and many others. |
