Anantnag, Sept 15: Taking cognizance of ET news reports about the illegal constructions in Movera Pahalgam, Pahalgam Development Authority's enforcement wing today partially demolished three illegally constructed hotels and guest houses belonging to a retired police officer and a noted businessman. Hotels of retired SSP, Mustaq Ahmad Kanu and affluent city businessman, Ashraf Burza were today demolished by the squad of Pahalgam Development Authority that was allegedly attacked by the hired goons of the owners as soon as they arrived on the spot to demolish the illegal construction. Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority, Nisar Hussain Wani along with Tehsildar Pahalgam and Pahalgam Police led the demolition squad and demolished the illegally constructed hotel. Reportedly squad also demolished few other structures as well in the Movera area of Pahalgam were High court had banned any kind of construction. CEO PDA, Nissar Hussain wani told media that he will not allow any Violation of the High Court ban. He also directed Tehsildar Pahalgam to submit a detailed report about encroachment of land in the area. However, sources said that demolition drive carried out by the PDA was to save the skin of retired SSP, Mustaq Ahmad Kanu and City businessman Mohmmad Ashraf Burza from any kind of legal action against them. They said that PDA was hand in glove with violators and it was evident from the fact that while hotels were partially demolished today; FIRs have not been lodged against them. Pertinent to mention that Early Times had published news reports against the illegal construction in Pahalgam, that has now forced authorities to act. |
