Shiva Sharma : A fast bowler from City, with dream to play for Indian Cricket team

Jammu, Sept 15 : Shiva Sharma, a young fast bowler from the city makes the batsman fear of losing his wicket, when he moves his arm for bowling in the cricket ground."From street cricket to the Under-19 BCCI Matches I lived every second of my life with cricket, and one day I will play for the India Cricket Team," said Shiva Sharma, 17-year old bowler from Jammu, with a commitment to himself to be in India Cricket team.
Many of us accept life as it comes to us but there are still many who create their own way and write their own destiny by sheer hard work and dedication.
Shiva Sharma, a student of class 12th is one among them, who for the sake of his passion for Cricket did every possible effort and hard slog in the past five years. Shiva belongs to Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh, he and his family are in Jammu for last 20 years."I used to play rough in the streets and local playgrounds with my friends, but always been keen in the game. I got developed a steep interest in it and decided to make cricket as my career," said Shiva Sharma.
Shiva is also associated with Delhi Indraprastha Cricket Association, which shortlisted him for Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2012. "I was shortlisted for IPL-2012 in Mumbai Indian team, but didn't got selected in it, This year I didn't got chance because of some family problems, but I have made it as my target for 2014 to get selected in IPL," he added.
Shiva started playing for Under-14 team for the two consecutive years, at the age on 12-year and got selected as captain for the same in the very first year at district level.Moving on to the Under-19 team and to various national matches, he has brought many a laurels to the state. He is also associated with many prominent sports clubs in the city.This fast bowler, who bowls at a speed of 132 kilometers per hour, said, "Practicing daily for four to five hours helps me gaining more expertise in bowling though I never took any kind of formal training for it."
"It takes good stamina, proper exercise, and stiff practice to be a good bowler. I always play cricket like playing it is all I am assigned to do," he added.I am satisfied by all I have achieved till now, Cricket is the only thing I have chosen as my career and I want to dedicate my whole life to it. I am trying hard to get admission in the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium as this will help me to get some more exposure in this field," he said.
