| JKST celebrates Engineers day | | | early times report Jammu, Sept 15: J&K Society of Technocrats (JKST) today celebrated Engineer's Day. According to press release, a meeting of J&K society of technocrats was chaired by Er Jatinder Bakshi President of the society to celebrate Engineer's day and to remember the great doyen of Indian Engineering Society Sir M Visvesvaraya. The Secretary General of the society IC Jandial threw light on the life history of Sir M Visvesvaraya and his achievements not only in the engineering field but also in administration of flood reeling the state of Hyderabad at the time of its ruler Nizam of Hyderabad. He was awarded Bharat Ratna a highest civilian award in recognition of his life time achievements by Indian Government in the year 1955. SP Verma and Hari singh the senior members of the society also spoke on the occasion The engineers present on the occassion both serving as well as retired took a pledge to walk on the directions of the great engineer Sir M Visvesvarya and adopt his guidelines in service of humanity espesially the down troden of the Indian Society Among others C M Seth a senior member of the society was also present.
