Jammu, Sept 15: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) today held a program of scholarship distribution.
Over 100 children attended the scholarship distribution programme on the seventh and final day of the camp. HBET is supporting education for the girl child in rural areas of Jammu region. AP Sachdeva and Vinod Sachdeva were the Chief Guest and guest of honours on the occasion.
They were briefed about the mentorship and medical support programmes run by the Trust for all round support of the children. They praised the noble efforts of the Trust in not only helping the cause of education but also helping society at large to empower women.
The Trust has a mission to change lives of needy children through literacy support programmes, has been providing scholarships and conducting various other child welfare schemes for the past 16 years. Over 89% children are from rural areas.
A total of 450 children received scholarships amounting seven lacs in the seven day camp held by the Trust. 50 children in special circumstances including Hiv+ve, Abandoned, Orphan, Handicapped also received scholarship.
