Poonch, Sept 15: After a brief lull for 24 hours and 2 days after two countries agreed to respect the 2003 truce agreement on the side line of a summit at Shanghai on Friday, Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked firing with small and automatic arms at forward posts in Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district on Sunday morning. "The firing started at about 6.25am and continued till 10 am for which our troops retaliated with matching caliber" said SN Acharya, officiating defence PRO at Jammu. Sources said that Pakistan troops from their new Hankle , point 1302 and twin tree posts targeted knoll, Nanad and Tillie posts manned by Grenadiers in Balakot sector. Indian troops retaliated the fire with full force and forced the enemy guns to fell silent. Pertinent to mention that only on Friday India's Foreign Minister Salman Khursheed and Sartaz Aziz , national security and foreign affairs advisor of Pakistan , had agreed over a meeting between the two prime ministers sometime in September in America and also agreed to respectct the 2003 truce agreement. But despite that Pakistan troops again violated the agreement and targeted some Indian forward posts n Poonch district on Sunday.No loss of property and life was reported from the area informed the defence sources. |
