| NC biggest threat to peace, integration of J&K: PDP | | Undeclared BJP-NC alliance disturbing communal harmony | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 15: Cautioning people against divisive policies being propagated by the ruling National Conference (NC) to remain in power, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that NC was biggest threat to the communal harmony and integration of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing an impressive public meeting at Nagrota, PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma today warned that NC can go to any extent to remain in power. "It is a fact that NC had entered into alliance with BJP during NDA regime just for enjoying power and now the party is sharing power with Congress", he said and pointed out that despite running a coalition government with Congress, undeclared alliance with NC and BJP was still going on in the State. Both NC and BJP leadership is reciprocating each other as part of their undeclared alliance, he said and pointed out that at every crucial times be it 2009 Rajya Sabha elections or 2011 Legislative Council elections, State BJP leadership had provided all support to its undeclared coalition partner NC. "It is high time to expose both the parties for befooling people", he said and pointed out that NC-BJP nexus is very dangerous for the State. Dubbing NC as party of opportunists, Sharma exhorted the party workers to expose this party before the masses because continuation of this party in power was not in the interest of the common masses. "Remain in power by misusing institutions is the only agenda of NC", he said and but expressed satisfaction that NC has now exposed before the people. "Gone are the days when NC leaders used to befool the people by raking up emotive issues. Now people have realised that except exploiting their sentiment successive NC regimes have done nothing to solve their problems", he said. Sharma assured the people that PDP has formulated comprehensive policies and programmes for the welfare and upliftment of weaker sections of the society. Former Rajya Sabha member Trilok Singh Bajwa, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi, Hamid Choudhary, Hussain Ali Wafa, Jagjeet Singh Jagga, Rashid Malik, Nijeeb Ullah, Deepinder Kour and others also spoke on the occasion. |
