| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, two held | | | Udhampur, Sept 16: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, Police, foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling with the arrest of two bovine smugglers and rescued six bovine animals which were being smuggled. "Based on a reliable information, a Police party of Police Station Udhampur laid a surprise naka at Kheri National Highway yesterday late hours and intercepted one Truck (JK14B-0989) on its way from Jammu towards Kashmir, police said. It added that during thorough search of the Vehicle, six bovine animals were found packed in the vehicle. Police arrested accused bovine smugglers identified namely as Ajaz Ahmed s/o Gulam Nabi and Bhar Ahmed s/o Mohd Shafi both hailing from Banihal Ramban on the spot. In this connection, a case FIR No. 284/13 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on. |
