| Modi likely to revoke expulsion of 7 BJP MLAs | | | Early Times Report jammu, Sept 16: BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narinder Modi is likely to undo the decision of LK Advani of expelling seven party MLAs on charges of anti-party activities. Advani, just after the MLAs were expelled on charges of cross voting in MLC elections about two-year back, had said while addressing rally at Gandhi Nagar that even in early years of party it had expelled its MLAs in Rajasthan despite the fact that party was in its formative years. Advani had said that party always put premium on the discipline and it is for this reason that it expelled the MLAs. But now with Modi made Prime Ministerial candidate, he is likely to reverse the decision to keep his chances of coming to the chair. "Modi needs the seats and he also knows that every seat would count. Party would need these MLAs to win two parliamentary seats from Jammu region, where it is likely to get tough competition from the Congress," said a senior leader. According to sources, the expelled leaders had already opened channel of communication with the team of Modi. Sources said Modi would soon convene a meeting with these leaders in New Delhi where thread bare deliberations are likely to take place. A hint in this regard was already dropped by the party president Rajnath Singh when he visited the Jammu recently and had said that files of these MLAs is not missing. Rajnath Singh enjoys personal equation with Modi and it's Advani which has questioned the working of even Rajnath Singh. Modi is aiming for about 200 plus seats and in matrix of counting every single seat would could. BJP and Modi also know that party would not get much success in South and Eastern India and its best bet is only in central and north India. Winning a seat from J&K even if from Jammu would give much acceptability to the Modi as J&K is the only Muslim majority state in the country and Modi has already hinted at approaching the Kashmir issue from the prism of Vajpayee's model. |
