Jammu, Sept 16: The premiere of "Damini... The Victim", a film inspired by last year's horrific gangrape incident in Delhi, was held here.
The film has been directed by Shahid Kazmi and produced by Jammu based production house- 999 Production Limited.
"We were deeply affected by the incident and thought of making a movie on the subject with the entire star-cast from Jammu and Kashmir," Kazmi told reporters. "Through this film we have tried to show the aftermath of any rape case- what a women goes through, physically and mentally," Kazmi added.
Actress Soman Manhas plays the main lead in the film. Bollywood actor Raghubir Yadav has also made a special appearance in the movie.
"Damini... The Victim" has been shot entirely in Jammu city by cinematographer Atul Vinod Duggal, Kazmi said.
The movie is set to release in October in Jammu and Kashmir and thereafter in other states including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi. |
