Sports rEPORTER JAMMU, Sept 16: District Udhampur boys completely dominated in the inter-district Divisional level kho-kho competition, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Youth Hostel, Nagrota, near here today. Udhampur boys clinched all the three titles of under-14, under-17 and under-19 age groups. In the under-14 category, Udhampur defeated district Reasi by one point. Later, in under-17 title clash, Udhampur trounced district Rajouri by one (6-5) point. Earlier, in the semifinals, Udhampur beat Reasi by one point and Rajouri outplayed Jammu by same margin. The title trophy in under-19 year group again went to district Udhampur boys, who beat Jammu district 4-3. In the semifinals, played today, Udhampur beat Doda by one turn and six points while Jammu defeated district Samba by one point. Today's finals and semifinals were officiated by the technical penal including HL Pandita, Ravi Kumar, Chander Kanta, Rajesh Sambyal, Ravinder Singh Bali, Surajdev Singh and Narayan Singh. In the valedictory function of the kho-kho tournament, Director General Youth Services and Sports, Naveen Agarwal was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes. Earlier, Deputy Director DYSS, Ved Parkash presented a brief note of the tournament. |
