Kathua, Sept 16: The vehicular traffic on National Highway at Chadwal morh remained paralyzed for around two hours, following protest demonstration staged by locals against traffic police officers, who had detained and charged a load carrier owner Rs. 200, when he refused to pay bribe. According to press release, thousands of people from all walks of life converged at National Highway at Chadwal to lodge their protest against the corrupt practices of traffic police. "Parvesh Kumar was victimized and being threatened by traffic police men to pay Rs. 200 otherwise had to face huge amount of Rs.1000 as fine", they alleged. Ranjeet Singh said that the traffic police was the most corrupt and insensitive towards its duty to serve the society and even as turned as black mailer. A truck driver Nissar Ahmad alleged that these traffic police personnel were most dreadful persons who never spare to drivers. SHO Naresh Sharma intervened on the occasion and convinced the protestors to lift blockade. |
