| Atleast 48 person sustain injuries in separate road mishaps in Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 16: Atleast 48 people including four minors were injured when a bus in which they were travelling in turn turtle in the fields near village Kotdhara about 5 kilometers from Rajouri city in the late evening today. Meanwhile one motorist got injured in Udhampur when he met with an accident. As per sources said an overloaded bus on way to Tarkashi from Rajouri met with an accident when driver lost control while negotiating a turn resulting into injuries to 48 persons including four minors. "three person identified namely as Rajinder Kumar r/o Kotdhara, Shammim Akhter r/o Sankari and Mohd Jaman r/o Tarkashi with head injuries were referred to Government Medical College & Hospital Jammu while Resham Bi w/o Mohd Sadiq was taken to Army Hospital by her family members. One of the injured Anuradha undergoing medical treatment at District Hospital Rajouri told media persons that bus was so overloaded that many of the passengers were sitting on the roof top. The critically injured have been identified as Anuradha, Kaneez Akhter, Saika Kousher (2) and her mother Naseem Akhter, Shammim Akhter and her mother Taksheen Begam. Reports said that vehicle bearing registration No JK02F-6646 left Bus Stand Rajouri at around 4.30 today evening and it turned turtle near village Kotdhara when driver of bus failed to negotiate a sharp curve. Locals and police rushed to accident site and evacuated injured in private vehicles. Dr Arun Sharma Medical Superintendent DH Rajouri said that 43 injured were undergoing medical treatment at District Hospital Rajouri of which three were under observation for head and chest injuries. "Meanwhile police after registering a case have started investigation in the case, said a senior police officer. In another road mishap a motorcyclist got injured when his motorcycle was hit by Army Vehicle on the National Highway at Motershed in Chenani of Udhampur District. Injured, identified as Om Prkash, s/o Darshan Kumar of Sera Chenani was shifted to Sub District Hospital Chenani. Police registered the case and started investigation. |
