KATHUA, Oct 6: To listen to demands and problems of the people besides taking stock of various development works, Member Parliament Ch. Lal Singh convened a public grievances camp at his residence here at Kathua today.
Sarpanchs, Panchs and large number of people from various panchayats of the district were present on the occasion.
The representatives from various panchayats of Kathua put forth their demands and problems regarding drinking water, power supply, road connectivity, ration, old aged pension, etc.
The MP assured the people that all their issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for an early redressal.
While addressing the people, the MP informed the people that Shahidi Diwas will be organized at Kathua to pay homage to the martyrs. He said that families of martyrs will be invited on the occasion to honor them. He said that several schemes have been launched by the UPA Government for welfare of the people like National Rural Health Mission, MNREGA, IAY, Old Age Pension, Widow Pensions etc. He appealed the sarpanchs and panchs to effectively monitor the working of 14 departments so that people could get better facilities. |
