| New Delhi's accession woes in J&K, corrupt mantris go untouched | | 'Special status to special crooks' | | Eary Times Report Srinagar, Oct 6: Expressing their doubts about the accession of J&K state with Union of India, J&K Employees Federation today said that it seems the accession is temporary as the government of India is unable to take action against corrupt ministers in the state on the same pattern as it has done in other parts of the country. Federation President in a statement while commenting on arrest of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav who was sentenced to five years and also imposed to a fine of Rs 25 lakh in fodder scam said that no such action was taken against the corrupt ministers in J&K who looted state exchequer by both the hands. Ahad said that over 50% funds coming from centre for the state go down the drain and till date not a single ministers was held accountable for the same nor CBI probe initiated at any stage. He said J&K has earned dubious distinction of being topmost corrupt state in the country and even surpassed Bihar but the government of India never took a cognisance of that and instead continued sanctioning the liberal funds. The federation while commenting on the statement of finance ministers, Abdul Rahim Rather declaring employees strike illegal wanted a CBI probe into assets of ministers. It said the turmoil in J&K is not because of separatist tendencies of the people but rising corruption, nepotism and favouritism as common man feels totally alienated. It said the government has till date failed to implement 6th pay commission in toto and release its arrears among employees while the centre has announced the seventh pay commission for its employees. Federation while questioning the state government decision terming strike illegal and using force against employees said that the government has hiked salaries and ministers umpteen times and their arrears were given in a single instalment but the 6th pay commission arrears of the government employees have not been released till date. The federation said when corrupt ministers in other parts of country face CBI probe and go jail why not in J&K. This shows that the state has not acceded to India otherwise what problem union government has in taking action against the corrupt ministers of the state, federation added. |
