Land meant for school, dispensary encroached upon at Gujjar Nagar
JDA shoots notice on CM secretariat's direction

Jammu, Oct 6: Two kanal land meant for school and dispensary in Jammu was encroached upon, however, on the direction of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Jammu Development Authority issued show cause notice to the land grabbers. The land is situated in prime location near Sheri Kashmir bridge.
The encroachment came to limelight when Mohalla Welfare Society Gujjar Nagar,Jammu raised hue and cry and made several representations to the Chief Minister and Minister for Urban Development Department who taking strong note directed Jammu Municipal Corporation for demolition of the illegal construction and JDA to take the land under department's possession for the construction of the school and dispensary.
Sources said that the piece of land situated under Khasra No 341 min comprising of 2 kanal was proposed site for Government Middle School and Government Dispensary dully earmarked by then DC Jammu Hardesh Kumar Singh but the same was grabbed . Sensing foul, the residents of the Gujjar Nagar area under the banner of Mohalla Welfare Committee Gujjar Nagar took up the cudgelS and made representations to the Minister for Rural Development Department who under Notice No MJ/CEO/88/2/2012 directed JMC to demolition of the same and further directed then VC JDA Satish Nehru debarring him not to regularize the land in question besides took stringent action to retrieve the piece of land.
The matter was again took to the notice of Chief Minister who under Ref No MWCGN/J-92-97/13 directed both the government agencies to gear up the drive. Succumbing the pressure ,the JDA issued show cause notice to the person who was on land grabbing prowl namely Master Akram to appear in person. The JMC team was also pressed for demolition but by the time, the alleged grabber managed stay order from court. Since the matter is sub judiced, the lawyers of the both the government departments, are fighting for the cause.
