| JPPF criticizes Omar's statement over accession | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 6 : Jammu People Province Forum (JPPF) has criticized the statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in which he had said that the accession of Jammu and Kashmir with Union of India is does not mean merger. While addressing a press conference, President JPPF Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj said the recent statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdulla during his meeting with the European delegation, stating that the accession does not mean merger is no deference between the two statements one by Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and the other by the separatist Geelani. He said that the statement of Chief Minister has created uncertainty and favours separatists view. The CM should not have made such a statement, especially before the foreign delegation as he is bound by the oath of allegiance to constitution of India. Pavittar Singh lauded the PHE Minister Sham Lal Sharma who, taking strong exception to the statement of the CM, dared him to quit the office if he felt that the accession of State with Union of India did not mean merger. The forum also appealed to all other Ministers, MLAs, MLCs hailing from Jammu province to have a united face against the fundamentalists and separatists from the Valley and also while addressing the discrimination with Jammu by the Kashmir centric State Government. Speaking on the issue of grant of relief to Jammu migrants, the president Pavittar Singh referred to the Supreme Court of India order of 2006 wherein the State Government was directed to treat Jammu migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants. It is regrettable that the state government has not implemented this verdict till date. |
