JKGBYB appeals govt to allot alternate piece of land to migrant families

Jammu, Oct 9 : Several families residing near Tawi bridge, today staged protest demonstration against Jammu Municipal Corporation for allegedly dismantling their houses. According to press release, Ch. Nazakat Khatana, President, Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakewal Youth Body has said that local residents of border areas of Jammu Province were forced to leave their homes and huts during Indo Pak 1971 war, Kargil war and due to continued firing in border areas from across the border.
Ch. Khatana has said that these border migrants, nomads, Gujjar should be given piece of land at some alternate place.
Ch. Khatana has appealed the government for allotting alternate piece of land in return of piece of lands under the possession of these border migrants. Ch. Khattana was accompanied by Karnlesh Kumari, Roopali Rani, Jaswant Singh and other.
