Rajouri, Oct 9: Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE) Team of BGSB University clinched final of Inter-Departmental Cricket tournament by defeating Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering Team (ERE).
The final match was played at Police Line Ground of DPL Rajouri in which Dean of Students and Registrar Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary was Chief Guest.
Earlier, toss was won by ERE Team and decided to bat first and scored 82 runs in 20 overs. ECE team chased the target by 5 wickets in hand.
Dean of Students and Registrar, Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary expressed his pleasure over the participation of all departments in the game events particularly cricket. He said that every year University organises game events in all the games of indoor and outdoor and he is happy that some of the students are taking part in the games at national level. He also thanked Police Administration Rajouri for providing the ground available for the Cricket event.
School boy exhibits honesty, returns cash

UDHAMPUR, Oct 9: In a rare act of honesty, a 10th class student of NITL Higher Secondary School, Udhampur, who found some cash and important documents, handed over the same to his school Principal.
"Momin Abass Batt, son of Mohd Abass Batt and Shabnam Begum of, a class 10th student of NITL Hr. Sec. School Udhampur found Rs. 2400 along with some documents wrapped in a polythene," sources said.
"He handed over the entire amount along with documents to Principal of his school, Ajay Gupta. After going through the relevant papers, the Principal handed over the amount along with papers to the original owner," sources added.
The Principal praised the student in the morning assembly and conveyed heartiest congratulations to his family members for his act of honesty. |
