Jammu, Oct 9 : Dogra Front and Shiv Sena today criticized state government over non-availability of milk products due to strike of Gujjar Community on October 9. The activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena were gathered under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta took out a procession in the main parts of the Jammu city which concluded at City Chowk against the non availability of Milk, Curd, Paneer due to the strike by Gujjar Community. Addressing the gathering Gupta President SS and DF strongly condemned the incident and demanded immediate action and arrest of the people who are selling adulterated dairy products to the shopkeepers. In the days of Navratras the sentiments of the people of Jammu has been hurt as the people were on fast these days and after being aware of the fact that they were consuming adulterated products. "Milk is most commonly diluted with water - this not only reduces its nutritional value, but contaminated water can also cause additional health problems", he said, adding that the other adulterants used were mainly starch, sodium hydroxide (caustic soda), sugar, urea, hydrated lime, sodium carbonate, formalin, and ammonium sulfate. "Urea can lead to vomiting, nausea and gastritis. Urea is particularly harmful for the kidneys, and caustic soda can be dangerous for people suffering from hypertension and heart ailments. He further stated that some bureaucrats were talking that the anti adulteration drive by the JMC is targeting some religious groups, Gupta warned these people that they should not try to give it a communal shape as the drive is against the culprits. |
