Early Times Report

Rajouri, Oct 9: On the 5th consecutive day the business establishments/shops of a particular community remained closed in protest against the district administration and Rajouri police against their alleged biased and discriminatory attitude in an incident of physical scuffle between two groups over car parking in RSS ground during their routine 'Shakha activities' in the late evening in Nabhan Mohalla on October 4.
The minority community has planned to defy the 144CrPC today which has been imposed by the district administration immediately after the incident. But they postponed their plan as the Divisional Commissioner and IGP,Jammu visited Rajouri today to meet the members from both the communities over the issue besides holding routine meeting with the district officials.
At about 3pm the representatives of minority community met with both the officers in the presence of DDC, DIG and SSP Rajouri and explained their views and put forward their demands including immediate release of their three youths arrested by the police in an attempt to murder (307RPC) case.
Members of minority community alleged that some youth of other community had disturbed their 'Shakha activities' deliberately and also torn RSS flag. Two brothers from majority community, who were injured in the clash, have alleged that about 20 youth from other community had planned a criminal attack on them and accordingly on their complaint police registered a case against the a youth.
The meeting with the Divisional Commissioner and IGP by the minority community members concluded at about 7 pm. A deputation from the Majority community was in the meeting at the time of filing this report.
Rajesh Kumar , IGP Jammu when contacted said that they will brief the media after discussion with the members of majority community.
Dinesh Sharma, president Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Sat Pal Sharma and Yughvir Gupta, VHP district president and general secretary, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, senior most BJP leader and others have leveled allegations of bias against district SP and said that instead of taking action/lodging FIR in an application moved by them, police has been taking action against their youth and have arrested three of them under section 307 RPC(attempt to murder).
They further alleged that some anti social /anti elements are active behind the curtain and under a well chalked strategy have disturbed the ensuing religious functions including Ram Leela and Navratras as some youth booked in the FIR were also playing important roles in the ensuing Ram Leela.
"Those who had disturbed 'routine Shakah' and attacked RSS volunteers were moving freely while their youth have been harassed by the police which has created panic among them" said these leaders.
Meanwhile local court has sent the two youths identified as Nishu Gupta and Radhesh to 10 days police remand today.
The minority community has decided to court arrest along with women on Thursday after defying restrictions under 144 CrPC if the meetings with IGP and Divisional Commissioner failed to yield any results.
