| Rajbagh residents' block NH, demand arrest of assaulters | | | Rakesh Sambyal Kathua, Oct 16: The vehicular traffic on Jammu Pathankot National Highway remained closed for around half an hour following protest demonstration lodged by residents of Rajbagh, demanding immediate arrest of third accused, who had attacked youth of Rajbagh on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Amarjeet Singh said that on October 12, two boys Jagandeep Singh and Harpreet Singh had gone to watch Ramlila at nearby village Dhanni Bakhta. "They had a quarrel with local boys over a small issue. Ashwani Kumar and Goldy along with more guys assaulted Jagandeep and Harpreet, leaving them severely injured", he said. They further said that Rajbagh police had registered a case and arrested Ashwani and Goldy next day but the other three culprits were still at large and police has not been making any effort to nab others. SDPO Mohan Lal Kaith and SHO Rajbagh Naresh Kumer rushed to the spot and told the protestors that police have launched a massive hunt to nab the absconders. After getting assurance of SDPO, the protesters removed the blockade and made it clear they would resume the protest if their demand would not be meet soon. |
