PDP demands assessing of crops damage

Kathua, Oct 16: Expressing his grave concern over damage to the standing crops due to recent hail storms and heavy downs in Kathua district, most dynamic and fire branded youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Anil Singh today urged district administration to assess total losses on the ground. In a statement issued here today after conducting extensive tour of different areas of Nagri, Maha Patti, Palli, Nihalpur, Sumoa Padyari, Kharkra, Jarai, Saidpur and etc Singh said that huge chunk of standing crops have been damaged due to heavy rains few days back. He said that in some places crops of farmers have been completely damaged.


He emphasized on the need of deputing teams of officers to conduct on the spot survey to assess the total losses so that adequate compensation should be given to the farmers. Anil Singh also expressed his concern over conditions of roads in Nagri which is being taken by the GRIEF since long to execute but it is still as it is and left the people undergo more and more sufferings and hardships. He asked the authorities to immediately finish the construction of this road.
