R S Pura, Oct 16: Dubbing National Conference-Congress government as opportunist coalition just to loot public exchequer, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that common masses would teach a lesson to both the ruling parties in coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Addressing series of public meetings at Kirpind, Phinder, Slehar, Rathana, Kalyana, Bala Chak and Salam Chak areas of R S Pura Assembly segment, Member Legislative Council (MLC) and PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha segment Yash Pal Sharma today regretted that during the last five years there has been total mess and anarchy in the state because those at the helm of the affairs have been brazenly indulged into looting the state. "Except looting the state there is no consensus between two coalition partners on all other issues", he pointed out, adding, "Both Congress and NC entered into alliance with one aim to loot the State". Terming PDP as party of future Sharma said that it was result of the good governance of the previous PDP led coalition that there is realization among all sections of the society only PDP has the vision and commitment to address their aspirations. He said that during his tenure Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of the State has proved that PDP leadership has capability of changing life of the common masses by treating all individual equally and providing equal opportunities to all sections of the society. He told the gathering that PDP led regime had brought transparency and accountability in the governance by strengthening democratic institutions in the state and more than 70,000 youth were appointed as teachers under Rehbar-e-Talim (ReT) scheme and more than 30,000 Anganwari workers were also appointed without any consideration. He added that during PDP led regime all regions were treated equally but specially attention was paid towards backward and neglected areas. He said that areas like R S Pura were given special treatment during that period. He reminded the gathering that various developmental projects were started during that period. He reminded the gathering that PDP led government under the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had fulfilled the promises which the party had made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in 2002 assembly elections. "Unlike National Conference, PDP leadership has never compromised with its principles for the power", he said. Earlier Mr Sharma installed a transformer at Krishna Nagar near Miran Sahib from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) on the demand of the local people. Former Rajya Sabha Trilok Singh Bajwa, Bhushan Dogra, Deepinder Kour, Sub Karan Singh, Bachan Singh, Neelam Devi, Rajni Nanda and others also spoke on the occasion. |
