Heavy restrictions in Palhalan on second day, clashes after prayers In Baramulla

Srinagar, Oct 18: Strict restriction remained imposed in Palhalan Village for second day on Friday after a police man died and several others got injured after their bus was stoned heavily on 16 October . Clashes after Friday prayers broke out in Baramulla town on Friday.
Police imposed strict restrictions on Thursday which continued on Friday following clashes between youths and police on Wednesday ( Eid day) after police Head Constable Kanwlain Singh of Singhpora Baramulla died and others got injured when the vehicle they were traveling in met an accident before came under stone pelting in Palhalan.
Police said, "Its department bus carrying recruits of Sheeri training centre was pelted upon near Palhallan soon after Eid- ul Azha congregational prayers. The driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle and it hit an electric pole and then overturned. The driver of the vehicle died on the spot while more than ten cops sustained injuries." The injured were later hospitalized.
Soon after the incident, police and paramilitary forces rushed to spot and fired tear smoke shells to disperse the youths which triggered clashes on Wednesday (Eid).
On Thursday morning large contingent of police and paramilitary forces were deployed along the national highway in palhalan restricting the moment of people. Locals said, people faced many hardships while distributing the sacrificial meat on Eid Occasion. Though no clashes or stone pelting was reported on Friday in Palhalan except restrictions. However in Main Town of Baramulla, clashes broke between youths and police soon after Friday prayers.
Eyewitnesses said, clashes were witnessed near Main chowk, Sumo Stand and Bus stand. "Police fires some tear smoke shells to quell the stone pelting youths" they said and added, the clashes disrupted the moment of traffic and later eased.
