| Patwari acquitted in trap case as VOJ fails | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 18(JNF):- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Puneet Gupta acquitted one Fida Hussain then Patwari who was caught by the VOJ team in trap case. After 10 years investigation and trial, Vigilance Organization failed to prove its case against the accused.
According to the VOJ case, on July 29, 2003 Vigilance Organzaition Jammu registered a case on the complaint lodged by one Bharat Bhushan and consequently a trap was laid to nab the Fida Hussain then Patwari as he was demanding Rs 5000/- from the complainant for issuing Fard for the land measuring 14 marlas situated at Gangyal owned by the complainant. During the trap one more person Harnam Singh (died during proceedings) was also found to be ally of Fida Hussain in the challan. After completion of the investigation challan was presented in the court of law.
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Puneet Gupta after hearing both the sides observed that from the discussion it is concluded that VOJ has failed to prove its case against the accused beyond shadow of doubt and accused is acquitted of the charges leveled against him. |
