Jammu, Oct 18: Students of DCM Public School, Gurha, Akhnoor today visited Sewa Samiti Home (Old Aged Home) Akhnoor and shared some moments with the elders . The event has been organized by HelpAge India's Jammu Chapter and on this occasion the elders also shared their life experiences with the school students. Over 25 students from DCM Public School have shown their desire to visit the old aged home and to meet elders. Speaking on the occasion, Dr KC Bhagat, president of Sewa Samiti Home for aged said that they have welcomed the decision of DCM school management for sending their students to meet the elders. He appreciated the initiative and said 17 inmates in their Old Aged Home always welcome the people visiting to them and refresh their experiences of their age. Dig Vijay Khajuria, general secretary of Sewa Samiti was also present on the occasion. The DCM students were accompanied by Ravi Singh Chib, physical education teacher and Sadhu Gupta, teacher. Neeru Khajuria, senior executive, HelpAge India, giving brief about visit to Old Age Home to students said that they shall celebrate their special days and especially birthdays with these elders and get their blessings, so that they cannot feel alone. Purshotam Sharma from HelpAge also introduced the children to the elders and facilitated their interaction to elders. |
