| JPSETTIA (Progressive) castigates decision to include former BOSE chairman in search committee | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 18: Jammu Private Schools and ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) has criticized the decision of state government to include former Board of School Education Chairman in Search committee for new chairman. According to press release, a meeting of Association members was convened yesterday under the chairmanship of its president Deep Singh at Jammu to discuss the status of newly constituted "Search Committee" of the state government for selection of new Chairman and Secretary of BOSE. Association in one voice opposed the induction of former Chairman Sheikh Bashir Ahmad alleged tainted official and termed it as unfortunate rather a silly decision of the state coalition government that too was never found serious towards the interests of over seven lakh school going children of the state like other regimes of recent past. "Though there was a precedent to include the outgoing Chairman of the JK-Bose as member for such new selections but the said tainted official was just called back by his parent department because of his shady working based long illegal stay of more than eight years in the Board", Association members alleged, adding that moreover it was the practice of the past to induct the Vice Chancellor of a state University as the expert member of such selection committees of the past which has been deliberately ignored this time. They further alleged that the ruling politicians for treating the prestigious educational institution BOSE merely as a milky cow just to fetch milk as per their wishes time to time without caring its much needed credibility in the larger interest of state's young generations. "It is quite amazing on the part of state government that hardly bothers for any accountability towards the public while going for such sensitive decisions", they alleged. While appealing the Chief Minister and Governor of the state, Association urged to restore the long past image of the state education Board by reviewing the decision related to the newly constituted search committee for its new Chairman/Secretary. Dr. GS Charak, Gurtaj Singh, JS Chib, P Sangral and Kuldeep Kumar Rao were among the prominent who attended the meeting. |
