EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 18: The District Horticulture Officer (DHO) Kirtan Singh has refuted a news item "Illegal promotions of CHOs in Horticulture Department" published in today's edition of Early Times. Kirtan Singh, while rejecting the story, said that the content of the news is an attempt to tarnish his image as it is completely baseless and fabricated. Singh said that the claims made in the news item that he is involved in a criminal case under section 323 of RPC, which is pending in the court of Sub-Registrar Jammu, is far from truth as the Court has already dismissed the case. "The Court acquitted me of the offence under section 323 RPC on January 31, 2013 where as the news item suggests that the case is still pending. It is false and an attempt to malign me," Singh maintained. Singh further said that as far as the claim in the news that as per eligibility under SRO 161 dated: 23-04-2002, only six senior most officers of the department are eligible for Chief Horticulture Officer posts, is again a wrong point made in the story. "According to Government Order No 04-Agri of 2010, dated 08-01-2010 regarding the final seniority list of Gazetted Officers of Horticulture Department J&K Govt, my name falls at S. No 106 in the list which clearly indicates that I am senior from few of the officers mentioned in the news item," he asserted. |
