Kathua, Oct 18 : Guru Nanak Religious and Charitable Trust (GNRCT) is going to organize a major festive for the first time on the occasion of visiting Guru Nanak Dev Ji at village Bakhta (Jasrota) 495 years back on October 20. This was stated by Swarn Singh, Incharge of Jammu Kashmir Sikh Mission and the Chairman of the Guru Nanak Religious And Charitable Trust while addressing a press conference here today. Swarn Singh Swarn Singh said as per the research made by Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Amritsar it was found that in 1558, Guru Nanak Dev Ji was on his mission of spreading the message of humanity and peace. During his journey, Nanak Dev Ji after covering Sikkim, Bhutan, China, Leh, Kargil, Jammu, Purmandal reached village Bakhta of District Kathua where he gave his preaching's under a Pipal tree. In the revenue records its found that the place where Nanak Dev preached is mentioned as 'Guru Ka Bard'. Narrating other facts and proofs supporting arrival of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, he further added that keeping in view the importance of place and the faith of the people the trust is constructing a Gurudwara. Moreover the name of this Gurudwara is decided to be 'Gurudwara Charan Kamal Sahib'. Keeping in view the arrival time of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Bakhta, it is decided by the trust that annual celebration will be made on 20th of October every year. |
