| GDC Doda organises seminar on 'communal harmony' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Doda, Oct 18 : Govt Degree College Doda organised a seminar on "Communal Harmony" in the premises of the college on the other day. The function was presided over by the Principal of the college Prof Z A Hashmi which was attended by large gathering of students and faculty members. In his presidential address Prof Hashmi said that India is example of composite culture where different religions existed in harmony. He however underlined that religion has never been a source of conflict between the communities in Indian society as mutual tolerance and regard for other religions has been an age old tradition of the country. He stressed upon the students to take active part in promoting communal harmony and national integration. Ziaul-Haq , Sunil Kumar and Heena Kousar were adjudged as top three winners respectively. A panel comprising Dr Wahied, Khawar Balwan, Dr Javaid Iqbal Tramboo, Dr Ajaz Ahmed Wani and Prof Bashir Ahmed Bhatt adjudged the performance of speakers. Prizes were distributed to the outstanding students while consolation prizes were awarded to all the participants. In the end Sabha Fareed Zarger presented the vote of thanks while Sabha Fareed Zarger and Mohammad Ahsan of B.Sc 3rd year conducted proceedings of occasion. |
