| BFDC demands formation of Shrine Board for Bawe temple | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 20: Seeking formation of Shrine Board for the temple of Mata Maha Kali Shrine Bahu Fort, the Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC), J&K said today that the government is disregarding and ignoring the demand. In a meeting of the executive body of BFDC held under the chairmanship of Baldev Raj Nagotra and presided over by its president Rajeev Charak, the members further discussed future strategy to seek the formation of shrine board for Bawe temple. Rajeev Charak said that the state government has been paying deaf ear towards this genuine demand. Alleging that the government always remained unconcerned and showed no interest in safety and preservation of Dogras' Heritage, Charak said that the collapsed wall of ancient Bahu Fort stands testimony to the callous attitude of the government as any step to get it repaired has been initiated so far. Speaking on the occasion, Baldev Nagotra said that many small temples of the state have been brought under Shrine Board but this shrine has been left where thousands of pilgrims visit daily and huge offerings in cash and jewellery offered to the deity goes in the pocket of a family. |
