| NMC demands appointment of chairman, members for 7th pay commission | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 20: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged the Prime Minister to appoint Chairman and other members for the 7th pay commission at the earliest and hold discussion with representatives of both Central and State governments employees in this regard. Addressing a well attended NMC workers rally at Rani Park here, Shastri said that early notification for appointing chairman and others members of the announced 7th pay commission is the need of the hour, which is bound to have bearing on about one crore employees and pensioners, both in Central as well as State governments. "50 per cent of DA should be forthwith merged into basic pay and pension," he said adding, 20 per cent Interim relief should be sanctioned as early as possible in favour of Central/State governments employees and pensioners. In view of sharp increase in the prices of essential commodities, he added While pleading the cause of daily rated workers working in various government departments, NMC chief has also demanded regularization of all daily rated workers, casual and seasonal labour engaged in different government departments and appealed to Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Chief Secretary to make amendments in SRO 64 and formulate a comprehensive policy for the regularization of all such workers. Stressing the need for immediate release of 10% DA due from July, Shastri further urged to the Chief Minister to sanction this installment in favour of State Government employees and pensioners in cash at the next Cabinet meeting as the same installment had already been released by the Central as well as several state governments to their employees and pensioners since long. |
