| Minor arrested for raping baby girl | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Oct 20: Police has arrested a 15 year old boy for allegedly raping a 3 year old baby girl in Kotranka area.
According to police the accused a resident of Hubbi, was arrested and has been sent in police remand for 5 days by the Executive Magistrate 1st class (tehsildar) Kotranka.
Police sources said that the rape, as reported by the doctor at Kotranka after physical examination of the victim (name withheld), was attempted on the girl and was referred to district hospital. Sources said that the accused is a close relative of the victim family and also neighbored in village Hubbi under Kotranka police station.
The 15 years old accused who was helping the victim family in harvesting committed the crime on Tuesday. After two days the girl informed her mother that she is feeling severe pain in her private part and on asking she told about the episode.
Mother took her to a hospital at Kotranka on Saturday and after physical examination doctor Aizaz contacted the police. Police party rushed to the hospital and after legal formalities brought the girl to district hospital at Rajouri.
Sources added that after the complaint by the girl the family members of the accused tried to settle the matter in the local panchayat and it was decided that the victim family will be given Rs50000.
But after wait for two days instead giving money the accused family reportedly started threatening the victim family . On Saturday the mother brought the girl to Kotranka and police booked the victim. When contacted Haji Bashir , SHO Kotranka said that the victim is in the custody of the police and waiting for medical report forfurther action . "Police have no information about the settlement of the crime in the gram panchyat, If any such attempt was made all, involved in settling the case, will be booked under section 109RPC (conspiracy). |
