Sports reporter JAMMU, Oct 20: Powered by an unbeaten ton from first class cricketer and skipper, Shubam Khajuria, Jammu and Kashmir today registered an impressive six wickets win over host Himachal Pradesh in the Vinoo Makand U-19 North Zone Cricket Tournament. Earlier, batting first, after J&K won the toss and opted to field, Himachal set a target of 204 runs for six wickets in 50 overs game. EC Singh (70), AC Sharma (48) and AK Bains were main scorers. From J&K, Rohit Sharma and Abrar Farooq took two wickets each while AM Mangnoo and Aquib Nazeer shared apiece each. In reply, sailing on superb batting from skipper, Shubam made unbeaten 103 runs off 122 deliveries studded with nine fours and five sixes. AO Banday also batted well contributed 60 runs to the total while Avesh Sharma added valuable 48 runs. AK Minhas and MJ Dagar took one wicket each from Himachal. Meanwhile, it has been reliably learnt that today's was J&K's first ever win over neighbour Himachal Pradesh in the under-19 group. |
