Jammu, Oct 24: In a special meeting held today, under the presidentship of Jammu and Kashmir ex servicemen league, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, it was decided to extend unflinching support to the army and all security forces engaged in fighting terrorism, insurgency and the misadventure on the border. He said those promoting violence and building anti-national ethos are the biggest enemies of Jammu & Kashmir. Speaking about the latest spurt in cease fire violations, Gen Jamwal said that it is as per a pre planned design. The sweet tone of the Pakistan PM should have been understood after our experience of Lahore summit followed by the Kargil intrusion. This time it was Keran, Hiranagar, Samba and now entire International Border. Remembering the supreme sacrifice of Brig Rajinder Singh, MVC in 1947, he recalled how he gained precious time for Maharaja Hari Singh to accede to the Indian Union and moving Indian Army to take on the naked aggression by Pakistan. He exhorted all ex-servicemen to be vigilant and support the Govt. and the Army. He also called upon ex-servicemen to come at Rajinder Chowk at 2.30 p.m. on 26th Oct 2013 to pay homage to the saviour of Kashmir and recipient of the first Gallantry Award (MVC) of Independent India and display solidarity to build confidence in the civil society. |
