| Audit Committee of PBBCI finds gross irregularities in production of programmes at DDK Srinagar | | Private producers pay for follies of in house producers | | Jehangir Rashid SRINAGAR, Oct 24: Gross irregularities have come up in the programmes made by the in house producers of Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Srinagar. The irregularities have been noted by Audit Committee of the Prasar Bharti Broadcasting Corporation of India (PBBCI), New Delhi. Sources told Early Times that tapes of programmes made by Wadera were previewed by the Audit Committee and once the preview was completed gross mistakes were found in the production aspect of the programmes made by former Head of Programmes, DDK Srinagar. The preview of the tapes is a part of the process of audit being carried out by the visiting team of PBBCI. "Some of the tapes of the programmes were found to be blank while as the remaining tapes consisted of shootings of unknown programmes. Interestingly, the same tapes were aired in June during this year when Wadera was the Head of Programmes of DDK Srinagar. It seems the members of Preview Committee at that time got influenced and gave green signal to the quality of otherwise production faulty programmes," said the sources. Sources said that tapes of programmes like Aulad, Gul Gulshan and Aena carrying proper library numbers were given a go ahead and we were telecast from the Kashir Channel. "When the boxes containing tapes of the programmes made by Wadera were opened and previewed under the orders of Audit Committee constituted by office of Director General, Prasar Bharti Broadcasting Corporation of India, Mandi House it came as a shock when it was observed that some tapes are blank while other tapes were having rough cuts of some irrelevant programmes," said the sources. |
