Congress engages itself in 'joining spree', BJP stagnant
Leadership fails to 'rope in' people despite Modi wave

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 24: Even as a flurry of activity is going on with major political parties in the state in terms of the joining and quitting spree, a phenomenon that sets the ball rolling for such developments in run up to elections, state unit of BJP stays untouched, stagnant and sluggish as ever with no leader , not to speak of any known figure from non political fields trying to come into its fold. This, despite Narendra Modi wave gripping everywhere else on multifarious political fronts, is not happening in J&K, all thanks to its 'moribund' state that continues to envelope the existing scenario within the party.
Ahead of elections, joining other parties and quitting the erstwhile parties by leaders of even tall stature is something normal and Congress made just a beginning in this direction by taking leaders from alliance partner National Conference as also from opposition PDP on board the other day. As already reported there are many more such dignitaries in pipeline waiting for appropriate time to come to its fold and so is NC waiting for striking a right opportunity to allure the leaders both from Congress and PDP into its fold. One will not be surprised if some leaders and known figures from BJP or any other party will change the sides in coming time , all depending on how ably the leadership manages to rope them in from the rival parties. The credit indeed also goes to the charisma and convincing skills of the Congress leadership to rope in the stalwarts from these parties at a time when all is not well with the party image particularly in Jammu region.
However, the point in focus here is about inaction on part of the BJP leadership which has not been able bring into its fold , not even the lesser known people. This amply implies that either state leadership is either not capable or willing to do so or in the bigger and wider picture Modi wave has yet to enter or impact the political spectrum in J&K , no matter the leaders talk tall about BJP forming next government in the state. One wonders what the party leadership is sitting still on this front of not trying to woo or rope in the potentially compatible lot in terms of like minded people either from retired bureaucrats, academicians , businessmen of substance or even some senior leaders of other parties who stand a disgruntled lot with the organizations they have remained associated with and feel isolated for some valid reasons.
