Despite the hard efforts of MP Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Madan Lal Sharma the Defence Ministry has not accorded its consent to the Project. Sourced said the widening of road has been a necessity in view of increasing traffic rush on the road with people getting trapped in long traffic jams daily. Sources said this has also been cause of increasing accidents on the road. The problem becomes more aggravated after the darbar move to Jammu as the vehicular traffic increases on this road, sources added. Sources said the construction of fourth bridge over River Tawi at Bhagwati Nagar has become useless as there is no proper road connecting the bridge with Akhnoor road.
