CM adopting dual standards on accession, merger of state with India: Vakil
10/24/2013 11:08:46 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Oct 24: Member AICC and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of adopting double standards as on particular occasion, CM has not only questioned accession and merger of J&K with India but refereed the same as conditional one. "His suggestions to Center to look at the other military options, incase Pakistan did not stop violating LOC Ceasefire, is proving this double standard. He said that Omar must clear his stand on the issue and termed his utterances as political gimmick, illogical and against national interest", he said.
Vakil said that Congress being a historical party believes in non-violence besides knows how, when and where to explore other options. He said that Central Government will deal the situation tactfully and strongly without third party intervention and it is a globally proven fact that dialogue is the only way to achieve goals in resolving conflicts and as war brings devastation and destruction in the war zones.
Pakistan has fallen prey to its own knit policy and Nawaz Sharif Government also failed to contain the ground situation there; killing of innocents in firing and bomb blasts is a routine matter there, hence Pakistan devised a policy to divert the attention of its citizens and foreign countries from prevailing uncertainty in the country to LOC firing, Vakil added.
Vakil urged Pakistani people and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to work for improving ties between the two neighbouring countries and seeking US intervention for resolution of Kashmir issue is wastage of time and energy as India will never accept any sort of foreign intervention in case of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Pakistan must work to minimize the miseries of common people there and continued ceasefire violations by it will not be of any help to this trouble torn nation.
He insisted that Pakistan must acknowledge that brunt of the violence and war, if reciprocated by India in the same manner will endanger peace in the whole subcontinent. Therefore it is binding upon Pakistan to exercise restraint and respect cease fire agreement at any cost.
