| DFP organizes seminar on food security Act | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Oct 25: As part of ongoing awareness campaign on Bharat Nirman Phase-II, the Kathua unit of Directorate of Field Publicity in close coordination with ICDS Project Vijaypur organized a day long women meet at ICDS Center, Swankha Than of Vijaypur block. According to press release, on the occasion a seminar on the provisions of Bharat Nirman Phase-II with special emphasis on National Food Security Act was organized in which over half a dozen participants besides intellectuals and dignitaries provided information and awareness to the audience on the subject. The seminar was organized in order to sensitizing and mobilizing the masses in general and rural masses in particular especially at the grass root level about various aspects and provisions of recently launched Food Security Act, which is a historic initiative of Govt. of India for ensuring food and nutritional security to the people of the country. The Act gives right to the people to receive adequate quantity of food grains at affordable prices and has special focus on the needs of poorest of the poor, women and children. Raina also laid emphasis on the audience to act as ambassadors in spreading the message of provisions and importance of National Food Security Act and its components in their respective areas and strongly advocated to shoulders their responsibilities for the proper and effective implementation of this national programme. The coordinating department appreciated the efforts made by DFP in making the rural masses aware about various central sponsored schemes and programmes launched by Union government. |
