| Manmohan visits border villages, takes stock of situation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 24 : To take stock of the situation arising out of unprovoked firing on border by Pakistan, the President, All India Jat Mahasabha Jammu and Kashmir, Choudhary Manmohan Singh held an extensive tour of villages Shahblore, Raipur, Kangwala and Sohalri A meeting was held at village Sohalri in which a large number of people including ladies and youth were present. Choudhary Manmohan Singh was accompanied by various Jat leaders from different constituencies including Capt Tirth Singh, Ch. Sham Lal, Ch. Baldev Singh, Sarpanch Darshan Singh, Chairman Swarn Singh, Ex Sarpanch Ch. Anil Singh, Lambardar Chatter Singh, Ch Ghar Singh and Ch Prem Pal. The people apprised the President about various problems faced by the community and general public of border areas. While interacting with the people, Manmohan Singh assured them to take up the issues of border people who are living in very miserable conditions. He said that Government should come forward in letter and spirit at state and central level to settle the issues as these people are victims of Indo-Pak wars of 1947, 1965 and 1971. |
