| PIB holds public information campaign | | |

GANDERBAL, Nov 6: In order to create awareness about various National flagship programmes, a Public Information Campaign (PIC) launched by Press Information Bureau (PIB) was organised at Ganderbal on Wednesday which was attended by large number of people including Panchayat representatives and students.
The speakers threw light on various centrally sponsored schemes and urged that without transparency and accountability the real objective of these schemes cannot be fulfilled. This three day campaign began was inaugurated on Monday by Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar at Ganderbal.
District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Sarmad Hafeez in his address urged upon the people of his district to use the tool of information as a means to know their rights. He said that public information campaigns (PICs) serve as a vehicle to carry forward the various developmental initiatives of the central & state governments adding that by knowing about the schemes, people can make the government accountable to the masses.
Hafeez was speaking as Chief Guest on the second day of the three day Public Information Campaign underway at Qamariya Stadium here. Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ganderbal Mir Sanaullah was also present on the occasion. |
