| Rahul to meet fragmented AJKPC in Kashmir | | Shafiq Mir accused of double speak | | Javaid Naikoo SRINAGAR, Nov 6: Soon after the news of drama enacted by a village head during Rahul Gandhi's speech in Jammu reached to the village heads of Kashmir, members of All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) called a meeting in Srinagar and criticized the alleged double standards of AJKPC Jammu division led by Shafiq Mir and said that he no longer represented JKPC and had no right to meet Rahul Gandhi on behalf of AJKPC. Alleging that Rahul' rally was disrupted on behest of Mir, Kashmir wing of JKPC accused that the incident was planned by Shafiq Mir to earn name among the political parties as he had lost support of village heads body of not only entire Jammu division, but the village heads of Kashmir, Rajouri, Chenab and Ladakh areas have always criticised his double standard. "He does not know the basics of panchayat system of the state and was nowhere when we created AJKPC in Jammu and Kashmir but he is playing different tactics with few panchayat members of Jammu to gain foothold in the political spectrum of the state," said vice president Abdul Majeed of AJKPC. Pertinently tomorrow, Rahul Gandhi is likely to inaugurate a 5000-tonn Controlled Atmospheric Store for Horticulture Produce in south Kashmir's Pulwama district and later attend a function of Women's Self Help Group Initiative for Jammu & Kashmir in central Kashmirs Budgam district, besides he will also attend a meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee at Party Office in Srinagar as well. |
